Michael Barron

Michael Barron

General Manager

Michael has worked in the private club industry for over 30 years. As an Ohio Native, Michael’s passion for Clubs started when he was a teenager working at Columbus Country Club. There and The Ohio State University, he learned about private club management. Michael’s hard work over the years has groomed and polished him for L’Hirondelle. Previously Michael was the General Manager at Zanesville Country Club. His club management career has also included positions with Winding Hollow Country Club and the before mentioned Columbus Country Club. He believes that excellence in food and beverage is the direct result of teamwork and brings a family culture to the staff and membership.
 

 
 

TJ Garrish

Executive Chef

Born and raised in Owings Mills, TJ attended Culinary School at the Ft Lauderdale Art Institute (Culinary Management).  TJ started his career working for Michy’s in Miami under James Beard and award winning chef Michele Bernstein before moving on to multiple award winning properties in Ft Lauderdale and Miami for the next 15 years.  TJ returned to Maryland for family reasons and secured the Sous Chef position at Woodholme Country Club, where he helped in a complete kitchen renovation. Seeking a new challenge, TJ accepted a position at Elkridge Country Club as Executive Sous Chef before coming to L’Hirondelle as our Executive Chef.
 


NOBU TANAKA

Director of Racquets


Nobu was born and raised in the Washington, DC area. He attended St. John’s College High School (SJC) and earned a scholarship to play for NCAA D1 program Longwood University (LU). He finished his career as the all-time record holder for their tennis program and the first player ever to be ranked in the NCAA Division 1 tennis rankings. Upon graduating from LU, Nobu served as the Volunteer Assistant Coach for #49 George Washington University in addition to working with WTA world #4, Maria Kirilenko. In 2014, he started at Columbia Country Club and became their Head Paddle Professional (HPP). As Columbia’s HPP, he increased member participation by over 30%, drove lesson/clinic revenue up over 300%, and was responsible for creating and building their brand new Pickleball Program. Nobu believes that a successful Racquets Program is rooted in providing high-quality on-court instruction to give players a platform to excel and top-notch member service.
